Market News: Rotterdam is the No.1 hub for oils and fats in Europe

The harbour of Rotterdam is the most important entry gate for vegetable oils and fats for Europe. 

In September 2024 in will be also the place, where the 3rd Sustainable Vegetable oil Conference and further events around this sector will take place.
The Council of Palm Oil Producing Countries (CPOPC) and MVO - The Netherlands Oils and Fats Industry will co-host the 3rd Sustainable Vegetable Oils Conference (3rd SVOC) on 10 September 2024 at the Rotterdam Ahoy arena , the Netherlands.

The organisers aim “to provide a comprehensive understanding of the current market dynamics in the vegetable oils industry, explore innovative practices and technologies across different types of vegetable oils and their role in promoting sustainability…”,

In parallel a two-day Technical Commercial Conference organised by OFI with the theme, ‘Innovations in Processing & Refining – Addressing Sustainability and Traceability Challenges in the Supply Chain’ focussing on focus on latest refining, and processing technologies, also discussing the challenges deriving from contaminants such as MCPDEs, GEs, MOSH/MOAH and other persistent organic pollutants (POPs) of concern.
