Approval for acibenzolar-S-methyl withdrawn

Acibenzolar-S-methyl (CAS No. 135158-54-2) was originally authorised in 12 EU member states until 31 March 2031. Now the use-by period for plant protection products containing this fungicidal active substance has been shortened to 10 July 2025.

At the end of the use-by period, the reduction of the maximum residue limit to 0.01 mg/kg is also expected for crops that currently still have higher RHMs.

In Germany, the active substance was already no longer authorised before this date.
